Entertainment Center

This entertainment center in Red Oak inspired me to push myself out of my comfort zone and learn new things. I will be forever thankful for what this project has done for me.

A wise man by the name Charlie Jones once said "Five years from today, you will be the same person that you are today, except for the books you read and the people you meet." I think that quote is well suited to this project, let me explain.

"....except for the books you read....."
This part of the quote summarizes my learning style. I am the type of person who prefers clear and concise written directions, all the more when helpful images are included. When I want to learn something new, I study as many books as I can find on the subject. This was how I approached my woodworking passion, starting with "The Art of Fine Cabinetmaking" by James Krenov oh so many years ago. So it only made sense that I would pursue the craft of stained glass in a similar fashion. I read a couple good books on the subject and dove right in. This was my first stained glass project and I promise it will not be the last, I love it too much!

"....and the people you meet."
Wisp Woods would not be what it is today without the support of all the remarkable people who have trusted me to build pieces for them. I've built many "just for me" pieces, a few "I just know someone will buy this" pieces, but what I like to do most of all is build "cooperative" pieces. Cooperative pieces begin when someone has a general idea of that they need, but are open to ideas. These projects let me, as I told this client, do my very best work. I am very thankful that this client continues to support me. From the bottom of my sawdust covered heart, Thank You!
